The View From Around Here

It was raining quite a bit most of the day today. This afternoon the cool north wind blew and started to clear the clouds and rain out. I was glad. Chris and I got out around 4:00 PM and the sun was beginning to break through the clouds. I told Chris that I felt like it was morning because it had been dark and dreary all day and was just beginning to brighten up.

I decided to snap a few shots when I got home to show you the view around here.

The slide show above shows the back field. It is about 8 acres. The property goes down to the tree line and up to the wood fence on the left side.

The above slide show is of the side yard. It is about an acre. We had it shredded a couple of weeks ago, but as you can see it has rained a lot and is growing like wildfire.

There is a big housing development going up near the property. It started about 4 to 5 years ago and has been going in phases ever since. It starts at the wood fence that you saw earlier in the first slide show and moves north for about a mile towards IH 35. The 2 shots above are from the back side of the development. I was at the end of the road behind the Pilot Truck Stop taking these pictures. Hopefully the city will put the road farther in and connect to the development and relieve traffic on our road. It would also help when construction begins on our section of IH 35 and they change the traffic flow on the access roads.
